Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 is causing a stir now, with leaks indicating it might also become the thinnest folding smartphone in the world. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is reportedly so thin it will unfold to a record-breaking 3.9mm and a folded measurement of 8.9mm, beating the existing record holder, the Oppo Find N5, at 4.21mm when unfolded.

The Z Fold 7 also reportedly has ultra-slender bezels and has shrunk the inner bezel to 1.0mm compared to the prior generation’s 1.9mm to enhance the viewing experience. The dimensions of the phone are also said to be 158.4 x 143.1mm when opened, but it is both higher and broader than the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Internally, Galaxy Z Fold 7 will reportedly run on the newest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor to provide better and more efficient performance. The phone will supposedly retain a standard battery power of 4,400mAh despite the thin design, which could be a concern when it comes to battery life.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is reportedly to be unveiled by Samsung as part of its Galaxy Unpacked event in early July 2025, alongside other upcoming devices such as the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the Galaxy Watch 8. Tech fans are keenly waiting to hear official word and get more information on this revolutionary folding smartphone as the launch date nears.

 Why it Matters:

This leak confirms Samsung’s ongoing quest to innovate in foldable smartphones when it comes to form factor, screen quality, and performance. The unaltered battery might prove to be a sticking point with power users, though. Assuming rumors are correct, the Fold 7 might become a benchmark for folding devices leading into 2026.
